I was recently commissioned to design and illustrate Melbourne poet Emilie Collyer’s collection of poetry entitled Your Looking Eyes. She wrote this collection whilst a ‘Poet in Residence’ at c3 Contemporary Art Space (part of the Australian Poetry Café Poet Program). Her poetry focuses on the small, beautiful and sometimes dark details of everyday life and we really wanted that to be reflected in the design, keeping the book small, printing it using RISO for a textured look. It even has green metallic staples!
It is a limited edition, numbered print run with the first 100 packaged with a double sided print of Emilie’s poem Object of Desire, printed on green or pink paper.
If you are in Melbourne this Wednesday, come down to the launch at C3 gallery as part of the Overload Poetry Festival. Chris Flynn will launch the event and Emilie will read a selection of poetry from her book. :)
